noone by name, but i'd recommend a truck shop - they're used to bulding tailshafts for 80t and a billion nm. i've always used gibbs truck parts on the gold coast, but i'm sure there will be someone similar in perth.
Hey guys,
I'm going to need a tailshaft modified for my conversion. I've got a feeling there is something wrong with the current one anyway, so I'll essentially need a new one. Can anyone recommend someone please?
Cheers,
Nathan

They're on the list, they'd built the one on the XX.
What are the benefits to a 2-piece tailshaft? Thinking out loud here. On the XX is was needed as thanks to the tailshaft loop it couldn't be removed without removing the diff, but is this so on a JZA80?

If you don't mind, how much have they cost?

I have used VEEM many years ago. No complaints.
Also used Hardy Spicer. No complaints aside from slowness. and cost , brand new two peice shaft was like $600.
Two peice should have less vibrations. shorter shafts can be smaller od (with same critical speed)
Singfle peice would be heaps cheaper if you can use one though.

You had a single piece on the XX remember?
Also used these blokes a few times.
Simple balance was $110
Yoke swap (and shorten) and balance was about $180
Soarer's was fully rebuilt by a place in Kewdale.
Cost about $850
New uni's (remember the stockies are non-servicable and non-replacable), new centre bearing. Some other work.

phil is the man !!.
i dont have a funny or cool signature.
Glad someone has the right answer!!
Veem is shit!
U know the jza70, they made my single piece tailshaft for that, less than 1000km later, both unis seized and yoke was twisted!
they said it was something i did while driving?? how is that possible!!
the one i got from Final Drive was a bit expensive, $650, took, less than 4 hours, car was on the hoist still, showed me around her, showed me the rooted shaft, took the shaft home with me, i have it in the garage nex to the 70 for anyone who wants to come look @ Veems awesome skills! HA
