GT4 gearboxes factory lsd??

hi all..

sifting through the mass amounts of LSD options for these boxes... and the awsome write up from Terry on the E series...

do any of the GT4's come with factory LSD in the front? not the transfer case section that bolts on.. but the 'conventional' 2wd diff part..

All GT4s have a viscous LSD centre diff.
All GT4s have a open front diff.
All ADM 185's and all 205's have a torsen LSD rear diff.

there was some rallye special (jdm only) 185s that had an lsd front too i believe.

That would be *very* special, ie only a hundred or so made for competition.
I know that TTE made a front LSD diff for them, but its almost impossible to find one, and then VERY expensive.


Stumpy raised a few related valid points:

I know of someone over here in the West that had made a 185 box with a LDS out of a MR2, It took a little bit of engineering. If you had a clutch type front LDS it would be a bit of a bitch to drive.

Or you could buy a box from Neil Bates out of a Corolla if you got say $20,000 or so (have not checked the price in a few years)

I would suggest unless you are using your car for a lot of competitions, you would be wasting your money on a front LSD. You would also be adding another 20kg+ to the front of an already heavy fronted car.

thats shit... even my takai toymods search with GT4 LSD didn't bring up that much info...

Correction on the All ADM 185s have a rear LSD, that is untrue and i wish that it was the case! Mine is open along with others from Ozcelica.com
