    Default CT15 High flow ??

I've done a search on the forum and wasn't able to locate something specific - seen plenty of examples of aftermarket turbos for the 1jz vvti, however would really like to maintain my standard look (not have to sell a kidney) and bump up the output.

So far, the places I email asking about high flowing it seem to be along the lines of

"There are next to no parts available for that turbocharger. It may be possible to come up with a rebuild kit by using kits for two or more other Toyota turbochargers. As far as modification, forget it, and change the turbo to a Garrett GT series. These will not bolt to the manifold. You will need to change many things to fit the turbo"

or just no reply at all -

Now I know there are some examples of high flow ct15s (Hyper Gear, but then I don't hear too many positive things about them, not sure if its customer service or the actual work ..)

Can someone advise a place / advice on this matter ?

    Cheers

yeah looking at 250kw - not aiming at crazy hypo range - just something which I can use with standard manifold

my brothers jzx100 had 220 atw with front mount + catback that was on stocko boost. also from memory i was quoted 1400 to highflow a ct12, so i guess that would be a ballmark figure to work from.

I'd stop emailing and start calling. They probably aren't replying or aren't taking you seriously, because of this

Ring GCG, if they do it its only a matter of posting it to them, buy a spare turbo so your car isn't off the road?

Combined with the VVTi these engines develop max torque at about 1200rpm and the torque stays there nearly all the way to redline.

If you are considering upsizeing the turbo, add on a bucket load of dollars for a new ECU to actualy be able to take advantage of the larger turbo. Bigger injectors, which probably means new fuel rail as well. The simplest way to mount a Garret, would be to have a compatable new flange welded to the existing exhaust manifold. Turbo size would depend on where you want the power, and how much of it you want. Remember there are limits to the VVTi 1J, before you start needing to buy beefier forged internals.

    cheers Chuck.
sif max torque at 1200 rpm just curious where did you get that figure from?its more like 2400rpm, easiest way to mount a garrett turbo is to use an adaptor plate to std manifold not change the flange,
larger injectors and ecu upgrades are needed but not new fuel rail, and the limits of the vvt-i 1jz are the same as the non vvti one something like 350-400rwkw std
he is only after 250 odd rwkw which is a walk in the park for a 1jz ,

    gcg have done them.
only person i know of using it got around 260kwatw.
was not a cheap option back then, but they might be cheaper now there are a few more vvti 1js getting modded.
in saying that i am getting 200kwatw with my stock turbo and manifold. not sure how much more you might get out of a better desighned mani as they are fairly restrictive from what i can tell.
interested to hear how you go.

Hypergear said to me and said max power on stock CT15 is 225kw or so, and on their high flow 270kw.
