    Question Bee*R 1ggte installation ?

    Hey guys

Got a Bee*r half installed on my car, running gen 3 1ggte.

    wee bit stuck tho.....

I have wired up the 12v, ground and the RPM signal (yellow wire) up.

The light on it comes on at 2500rpm (like it should to start limiting)

But I can't seam to work out where the "Ignition signal" Wire is.
From what I've read you slice into the wires, not cutting it in half and joining 2 ends etc...

Also I haven't wired up the handbrake switch, Do i need this going to make it work?

So just wanting to know what ecu pin i connect the ignition signal wire to

that may help, its for a 1jz-gte but it tell you that you need to tap/splice into the (Ne) pin on the ecu. The white wire is so you can use the bee-r as a 2 step launch control but you don't need to connect it for the rev limiter to work.

Please forgive me if the image I've posted is too large I'm computer retarded, thats how I did it on mine and it works really well. So give it a go, it is a universal part and the japanese instructions that came with it actually had a pinout diagram for three 1GGTE engines-86.1 - 87.12 (MT & AT) (which I used) , 88.8 - 93.4 MANUAL TRANSMISSION (MT) ONLY and 88.8 - 93.4 AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION (AT) ONLY. *** IMPORTANT*** the Bee*R instructions said that the rpm signal should be taken from the IGf pin (pin 8 on the second ECU plug) this DID NOT WORK for me so I spliced into the IGt pin (which is pin 8 on the FIRST ECU plug) as pictured.

So to make this unit work you need:

    12V+ : RED WIRE
    GND : BLACK WIRE
RPM SIGNAL : YELLOW WIRE TO IGt not IGf
DISTRIBUTOR SIGNAL : GREEN WIRE to Ne

so if you're doing this install on a later model 1GGTE or 1GGE (same diagram so same pinouts Id imagine) you need to locate the IGt pin to get your RPM signal from *hint* if you have an Apexi SAFC or RSM like I do the you can splice into it's RPM signal wire because the Apexi units use the IGt pin as their RPM input, so if you can't find a pinout diagram download the SAFC/RSM manual and it will show you where the IGt pin is.

For the RPM signal, IG- coming from the negative side of the coil seamed to work, had the bee*r flash at me when the rev range was right to cut it...

thats the ecu pinout i have been using... Theres no NE+ only "HE"

Hmm okay bear with me here, im just going to try and match the Japanese symbols. According to the instructions it should hook up like this:

Distributor signal/Green wire: pin 10 on the first 26 pin ecu plug but that (according to your diagram) would be S1 ECT, so that can't be right

If I was you I'd try all the pins from the distributor. 16 pin ecu plug: pin 16 (G-) , pins 1,2,15 on the 26 pin ecu plug. It's gotta be one of those.

As long as you had the light on the Bee*R flashing at the set RPM then that should be fine for the rpm signal.

Sweet, and the other thing that bothers me, is what way that diagram shows the pinout, is that like looking at the ecu with the plugs in?

I never had mine working on a gen3 ecu either. It sensed the correct rpm, and seemed to try and cut the revs, but never worked 100%

Im sure there must be a way to make it work, I can't see how a 1g would be different from any other engineconfused: possibly have a look at how its wired up to other toyota engines (3sgte comes to mind)
