Yes they do although we found the outer gasket surface to be larger in diameter, didnt affect anything though.
Hey guys,
I tried to do a search on this one but couldn't find a confirmation.
Will a 2005+ Hilux 4x4 LSD diff fit into an RN85? ie... do they still use the same G series assembly etc?
Thanks for any help.
Cheers

Does that mean axles and everything fit? ie its a bolt in deal? I've got an RN90 with a 1uz trying to survive with a one legga diff-very frustrating sometimes esp in the wet.
We bolted one in mxracer's 2jz hiace van which runs a g series diff and its handling 400rwhp. The one we put in was a 3.6 ratio too.
Cool, finding an LSD for my Lux just got a whole lot simpler, thanks guys
What gearbox are you running behind the 1uz, Mick?
If you are happy with your current ratios and the condition of your diff, you can just change out the centre. I've heard somewhere (maybe on here) that ARB and those sorts of 4x4 places will sell you a Toyota LSD centre real cheap because they take them out when fitting the air lockers.

check out ebay for diff's lots of lsd hilux ones for $200-400
i got mine from a 05 lux , the 4 bolt flange was diffent , but i just swaped it on the tailshaft side at the uni joint cause i got the shaft with it.
I'll check that out thanx guys, and yeah i'm happy with 4.11:1 ratio, it cruises at 2500rpm @100kph but still pulls hard off the line, gotta love that overdrive and converter lock-up.
Well i picked up a 3.6:1 LSD on ebay today, so will fit that up in the next week or two in place of the open 4.1:1.
Just doing it in advance of the engine swap down the track.

So do you mean you got a complete centre to bolt in (what year if so)?
yeah mate, whole unit, not just the LSD centre. Its out of a 2007.
I had the option to get just the LSD, but then you've got the expense of setting it all up etc, and I'm no diff expert so that would need to be done at the shop.
Will let you know how it goes.

Cheers.![]()
I've got a brand new (i.e like 14km....) LSD Hilux centre if anyone is interested.....
Post some pics manEspecially of firewall mods and how much room you got at the front!
The only 2 ratios that are really suitable for a 2WD Hilux with a much bigger engine are 3.583 and 3.727
- 2005+ 4x4 Manual - 3.583:1. LSD. Both petrol and diesel same ratio. Wreckers want $450, but I got mine on ebay for $255 this week.
- 2005+ 4x4 Auto - 3.727:1. LSD. Both petrol and diesel same ratio. Haven't seen one at wreckers.
- 2005+ 2WD V6 and Turbo Diesel (not 4cyl petrol) - 3.583:1. non-LSD, but was an option.. Haven't seen one at the wreckers
- 1998-2004 RZN149R 2WD petrol 3.727 This won't be LSD. Wreckers are after $250.
- 1999-2000 KZN165R 4WD turbo diesel 3.727 LSD (this is very rare and the wreckers want $500+ for it.
Of course you have other options including combos from other G-series, but they aren't bolt in of course.
