Default Stainless Steel Injectors for Water Injection?

Would a methanol/alcohol compatible stainless steel injector be suitable for water injection without dieing? Obviously the stainless wouldn't corrode, but would there be anything else inside the injector that could suffer from water related drama's?
I want to build a true fuel flow rate (injector duty cycle) based water injection system and tripped over these:

    http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Ducati-Magnet...1#ht_500wt_922
A single 490cc injector driven by a Jaycar boost controller (that uses the injector duty cycle as its input (0-100% in 64 points) and has a uses programmable 0-100% (also in 64 points) output with a setable operating frequency.

    Im interested in this also.

I actually found a website selling injectors specially made for water/meth injection a while back.
Ive looked for quite a while, but haven't been able find that website again

Looking at those injector links, i would be after one with a wider spray pattern.
Those are also only good to ~70 psi, where the good water pumps are now up to ~200psi.

Since your in SA, maybe a small group buy between the two of us could be arranged?
    Is this the 1?

Small group buy could be a winner to help reduce freight costs.

    No it wasnt that.
It looked more like a normal injector.

FWIW, I played around using a fuel injector for water (using coolant as a corrosion inhibitor).

It worked, but I had to run the water pressure stupidly high (7 bar!) before I got anything like decent atomisation. Fuel injectors are designed to work with a thinner liquid than water..
Strange things are afoot at the circle K

    Cheers BW
I thought that would be the case after actually thinking about it some more. Those Marelli injectors are only rated to 5 bar, so there goes that idea .

Might just use the FJO solenoid valve nozzle unless MWP can remember where he saw the water injection nozzle he mentioned.

could also consider an LPG injector - the ones that fire the liquid gas not the vapour gas?

Just run the aquamist injectors with a variable rate pump....that's all aquamist does and they are leaders in this field.

If you're just using WI for det control? then going this fancy is a waste of time IMHO...i've been using a simple 2 way boost/rpm table for on/off for years and it works brilliantly. With/without testing showed it cost me a little power but once i started dialling in the ign adv i'm pretty confident i make more power with it

L series Nissan injectors seem to work fine at 7, no idea what they are rated at though..

Aquamist sells water injector, buy It ready made and use one of their nozzles to atomize the water.

I saw it, but the difference is that they use presurrized accumulator so the pressure is always constant, no matter if the pump is variable. Because if you want steady and controled delivery of the water, you need constant pressure and flow. That is why I mentioned that

Im starting to think itll be easier to run 2-3 normal nozzles & solenoids and open them up at different times.

Thumbs up Re: Stainless Steel Injectors for Water Injection?

i build and tune high performance street and race cars for a living and work with quiet a few companys as a result i would recomend you check out coolingmist, com i sell and use there water injection kits on my customer cars and they manufacture a high pressure pulsed water injection kit that cam be mapped like fuel injection.please feel free to contact me if you need more information
