2jz - r154 swap into a is200 lexus
hi guys ive been looking for info into swaping a 2jz/ r154 combo from my cressida into a is200. just trying to find good info into the swap from mounts, sump, which r154 suit best (non remote or remote shifter?) i have a single turbo setup already in my cressida that will be swaped over and also aftermarket ecu for the wiring side. just any good info that i can find on the swap. and will all the dash wire up fine and still work like factory? cheers ron.

is300 had 2j, so there are your mounts.
plenty of people have done this conversion - i strongly suggest you speek to your rta and / or engineer before you start though!! different states have different rules on engine ages.
the j160 has a remote shift, so i think you'll need that. pretty sure you'll need front sump too. i but the beams 3sge into mine over xmas, whilst it was not that difficult, there was a hell of a lot of work & a few parts to be modified.
as for wiring - it will depend on the age of your new motor, the later the better, as the wiring will be similar. there are no detailed diagrams of the instrument cluster, so some parts will be suck it & see, but is200 is 6 cylinder, so it will all work - just depends on how pedantic you are

i thought i might be able to use the is300 mounts but was hoping someone can confirm that or if there is another way to do it? the wiring for the engine will be fine as ill be running a wolf v500 ecu but it was all the little things like speedo, tacho etc that i want to work on the factory dash.
