1jz into hilux surf kzn130 [HELP]

Hey guys,

being sick of my 1kzte motor, i have decided to put a 1j into the hilux surf. Couple of questions. I have done as much research and read up demons build, but cant find any1 to suit my questions.

My 1kzte has a 30-41LE gearbox aka A304E. The 1jzgte also has a A304 gearbox, in saying that wil my gearbox bolt straight up to the 1j, USING the 1J flex plate and the Hilux Torque converter?.

2nd Which sump to use? front or rear. The 1kzte have a rear sumped motor so using a 1j rear sump will work without any modifications?.. I've seen the 1j into a hilux with a front sumped 1j and thats was chopped and cut like no tomorow..

Help would be greatly apprecaited and pics of build will be up as soon as i get these 2 main questions sorted=)

Hey DRF,
I just finished a 1 jz vvti R154 manual into yn85 2wd 2y.... I used the rear sump with no issues only thing that I think will be a problem maybe not a problem but messy will be changing the oil as the plug is right in the middle of the cross member..

no need to chop the front sump just relocate steering damper....

hey guys will post up photos, with the kzn130 hilux just needed to raise the engine and relocate the steering dampener..
