i dont know much about them? my tuner has been playing with the 2j2 so i was looking into them.
Fair enough. Always best to go with what your tuner likes. I've used the innovate in customers and mates cars and they have worked well. Does your ecu have the ability to run closed loop fuel control? You have a Wolf3D from memory don't you.

nar wolf v500not that crappy 3d lol. but yeah it does. im going to be running pump e85 as well now.
Ahh my bad. I have tuned one of those 3D's before and your right, they were horrible. Are you able to run a flex fuel sensor with your ecu so that it can adjust fuel with the varying amounts of E85 from the pump?

not sure but i think the 2j2 does this but not sure. thats why i was trying to find abit about it. my tuner was flat out with the jambo cars so havnt bothered him.
Looks like you can buy it direct from techedge themself.

They have the info on the site and seem to be the same as the lc1.

thanks for that. i was looking at that site earlyer and thought it was overseas for some reason lol. if anyone has used them please let me know what you think thanks.
The Techedge guys are here in Canberra and manufacture them locally
A few of us here run them (permanently mounted in car, and remote via sniffer where needed), and can't fault the unit, they are great value for money and a number of options for looms/displays etc.

I've got a 2j2 and a 2j1 on my cars (gt35r ecotec & gt35r 1jz). Both permanently mounted but with plugs for quick removal if necessary. I'm guessing accuracy is dependent on type of oxygen sensor used (an item manufactured by a 3rd party like Bosch and probably common amongst different brands of wideband controller manufacturers like Techedge and Innovative).
Also, accuracy is dependent on correct wiring of the unit. With an aftermarket ecu and a Techedge controller:
* 'WBlin+' is wired to an ecu analogue input that is configured for a wideband oxygen sensor controller and calibrated for the output of the Techedge (alternatively the Techedge output can be calibrated for the input requirements of the ecu).
* 'WBlin-' is wired to the sensor ground pin of the ecu. The sensor ground pin provides a common earth for sensors such as IAT, ECT, TPS, crank & cam triggers (crank & cam triggers go to a separate sensor ground pin on my Vipec ecus).
* Wideband controller power supply from 12V ignition switched - not necessarily from the same fused & relayed circuit at the ecu power supply
* Wideband controller ground to the same point as the ecu ground
If you don't have an aftermarket ecu then you can't log the wideband signal (or use it for closed loop AFR control) so you'll have to get a display and tune off the display. You can log to ecu and use a display at the same time, which is what I do on my cars.
You buy the unit straight from the Techedge site and it doesn't take long to arrive.
Also, follow the site's mounting instructions for the oxygen sensor itself. If your tuner installs it then double check his work and don't trust anybody!
you can also log to a laptop with techedge's software![]()

im running the new wolf v500. they use it on all there customers cars and there own toys so im pretty sure he knows what he is doing (more then me lol)
with the air/fuel gauge that you can buy for them can i use a autometer air/fuel ratio gauge? its just that i have one laying around that i never used?
dont know about the autometer gauge, I've got a tech edge 2c0 in my cressy with an LX1 display mounted on the column. It's fairly accurate (good enough to get the tune close), but I'm sure the guys at EFI will do the actual tuning with their lab grade wideband etc.
You can see the LX1 display in front of my cluster in this vid:

I've also got a bunch of Innovate LC-1's which dont seem to be as good and I'm replacing those with NGK AFX wideband controllers with the NTK sensors which are supposedly more rugged than the normal bosch LSU sensors most kits come with. I can't be bothered pulling the cressida apart to replace the 2c0 with an AFX, I'll wait until the bosch sensor dies before I pull it apart.
