Default MX83 front strut onto AE86

    Hi all,
Not sure if this have been covered but basically I need to find out if the front strut with spring from MX83 Cressida will bolt onto the steering arm on AE86?
I would expect to change to strut top to AE86 one. Just looking for alternate way to upgrade the front strut and disc brake assembly in one shot.
    Any idea?

    Is that true?

I know AE86 Adjustable LCA fit MX83s and knuckles can be swapped between the two so could the guy run X8 struts and knuckle 5 stud wheels and so on like if he is getting brakes and so on he is getting hubs and that as well.

not trying to start a shit fight but would have just thought if you can use 86 arms in a 81 you could use them the other way to

    definitelty wont bolt up.

    steering knuckle bolt spacing wrong.

cressida steering knuckle also wont work in a 86.

other issues - strut tube > spindle offset most likely wrong.

it could be adapted, obviously, but itd be a lot of work.

if you want 5 stud id say youre better off using a silvia front end. which still doesnt really work that great in an AE86 usually.

    MX83 bolt spacing is ~110mm, AE86 is 85mm.
    MX83 LCAs are 340mm, AE86 are 300mm.
MX83 balljoints are completely incompatible with any other Toyota balljoint delivered to Australia, no way in hell it would fit AE86 knuckles.

Bought a 86 shell without anything attached last weekend. Since I'm going to buy all the suspension, brakes, rear axle I guess it would be easy if I just get suspension from those bigger brother in Toyota or Silvia range.
What wrong if I'm using the whole Silvia front suspension? Is it just the castor angle is wrong? Don't worry bout the spring rates and damper heights as I'll eventually getting a custom made coilover for it.
