Default RA40 Brakes and diff upgrades ?

I have currently rebuilt the 18RG but now it's time to upgrade everything else.

i have looked all over the net to find solid info and info that can be used, for eg the hilux/peugot/crown upgrade is fine if we lived in 1995 but all those crowns are melted down and are toyota carmrys .

This picture shows commodore hubs and rear diff 1JZ-GTE in a RA-40??? - Toyota Nation Forum : Toyota Car and Truck Forums

i need more info . did he use the commodore struts ? what mater cylinder is the best to the bigger brakes

What diff are the best to bolt under the back once again availability is the key(fabrication is no problem) ^ this guy uses a vs one has anyone seen this?

once i get all turning and stopping really good i am considering the 1JZGTE option

also rack and pinon steering for the win

The Hilux/Pug conversion uses a Corona XT130/RT132 strut (not crown) which has an integral caliper mount. They can be found, prob is wreckers have woken up and charge a few bob. There are not too many other options without some clever machining. Ma61 vented rotors and calipers with a machined up caliper mount is do-able, but then you could go small Wilwood 4spots with this makes a nice upgrade.

The rear diff in a RA40 is the 6.7" T series diff. Options include finding a GT F series diff from an RA45 (yes they do exist) and it bolts straight up. There is the F series diff from a Mk11 Corona MX13, these can be fitted with some welding of new brackets. I think the Tarago/Townace YR21 F series diff fits. The ultimate is the Hilux 8" diff which also needs welding and you can change the 5 stud axle to 4 stud or use 5 stud rims (same pattern as Ford or Crown).

Then with some mucking around, you could go big falcon front brakes, hilux rear diff with falcon rear discs and the choice of rims is endless.
