Default Sard Fuel Pressure Regulator Adjustment?

    Hi guys,

Im trying to get the celica started (finally) and having some issues with the fuel pressure.

I have a Sard regualtor on there, but the pressure on the gauge is reading WAY off the scale, like over 100psi (pretty much topping out the gauge). Ive tried adjusting the screw on the vacuum fitting all the way in and most the way out and it doesnt seem to be making any difference.

Has anyone experienced this before? Im worried its doing some damage being at such a high pressure. Its a 4age 20v engine with 1JZ injectors that have been cleaned and spray tested.

    Thanks,
    Dana

U need to wind it back to reduce the fuel pressure... But if its any help, for the last two yrs, mines been running 100psi, told my tuner, he didnt belive me so he put his own guage in and it was 100psi.... But my motor has its own ideas so dnt wory bout mine doing it, its on a 100psi becuase it has to for now... Ur pressure is just to high, so if u get it down, ur car will most likly start and not be flooded with fuel??

But yea, wind it back, but all the way down and uve maxed the pressure...

I'll go check the return line.

One thing I noticed if I take off the hose at the fuel rail it releases a fair bit of pressure.

Ive also wondered if the injectors are just not opening at all (possible, this is first time starting with the ecu), Im just not sure how to test them yet.

It's harder for the injectors to open with higher pressure, but the injectors not opening won't cause high fuel pressure as the fuel pressure regulator should still bleed fuel to maintain the set pressure.

Are you still running the turbo? I take it thats why you have 1J injectors.
If not you don't need the vacuum line at the top of the reg connected, you won't need rising rate if its running NA.
