Can you push the torque converter off the flex plate a little?
When you put the torque converter on the gearbox did you make sure to align all of the shafts? (there should've been a number of "steps" so to speak as it went on)
Everything bolted up fine tightened up the bell housing bolts , but when I'm turning the crank to mate up the flex plate to the torque converter the flex plate is turning the torque converter with it,? Therefore I can't line up the bolt holes, there isn't much clearance between the both not sure what's going on , any help would be good , cheers

Hi,
I agree with RA35GT, But to push it a little with small clearence maybe a bit hard (maybe you could use a pry bar?).
Or, You probably should remove the transmission again and push back the torque converter and can check for other fault.
Check your flex plate direction, maybe its the other way round?
Cheers.
What way around does the flex plate go? I'm pretty sure it's the right way round cos I can see where the screws where tightened against the flex plate
Hi,
Ok, i that case then the flex plate should be ok.
You can try to lock the torque con using a prybar or flat screw driver and turn the crank and see if there is any friction.
If that dont work, maybe you should remove the transmission again to check. On the torqe converter, there is a shaft maybe a few mm long that align to the crank shaft center(boss). Maybe the alignment is abit off so the torque con is some how sandwiched between the transmission and the crank end.
How much gap should there be between the flex plate and torque con when the tranny is bolted to the block? Looks like they are touching
Sounds like your convertor isnt on your gearbox input shaft correctly, when you put it in did it drop into place 3 times?
If not time to pull out the gearbox again and hope you didnt tighten the gearbox bolts with the convertor not in properly.
I'm pretty sure it did but I guess not if its not working :/ I did tighten the bolts though, so what does that mean?
Means its fkt heheheh
If u r not in a hurry just pull box back out and double check
U won't know about flex plate unless u pull it apart again and look over it
Also should be about 4 or so mm gap from torque converter to flex plate
Once box is bolted up
Yeah will pull the box off when I have time and look at the flex plate to see if its bent, fckn autos
Hi
When properly mounted it should have about 2-3 mm gap. Maybe a bit more. Not tight I suppose. Anyway like members advice, it's easier to find the problem if the trans is off.
There a thread about a 1uz flex plate spacer installation order. Maybe you should check it out. Cheers.
