hey all, i just bought a 1981 toyota corona hatch as a daily and wet weather fun...
on the way home noticed it has major body roll and am just wondering suspesion options you would suggest.
a mate said ma61 coilovers fit???
maybe some harder springs out of another car?
any suggestions would be appreciated![]()
xA6x Coilovers will fit if you use xA6x Steering knuckles, which will reduce track and give you positive camber. I put RA65 struts and brakes on my XT130 (same / almost identical struts to yours - 1981 liftback means it's an RT132?) and had this result. The struts also fouled the swaybar when the suspension was at full droop.
Better off getting lowered springs and shocks front and rear OR getting your front struts converted to coilover and getting lowered springs and shocks at the rear.
Upgraded front swaybars are not available off the shelf anymore, and the RT132 doesn't have a rear swaybar. You could weld on some swaybar mounts to the diff and mount an XT130 rear swaybar to it if you want it to roll less in the rear.
If my assumptions are correct and it is an RT132 these are mega reliable cars man. Keep the oil and coolant on the inside and teh 18R will never die.
