Go buy a corolla box for $50, AW11 box will bolt up but the shifter linkage is on the exhaust side, corollas have it on the intake side.
Long story short I bought and finished not long ago an ae82 with a freshly built silvertop in it. I finished off all the wiring and the rest and took it for it's maiden voyage today. The gearbox crunches going into 3rd so I want to swap a fresh box into it. It's a non lsd box, I believe from what I've seen on my search for answers that it's a c52 since it appears to have two starter motor locations. Now I can get my hands on a gearbox out of an aw11 mr2, non lsd (I believe it was just a 4age motor not 4agze), my question is, will this bolt in without issue? Or if not what would need to be changed to make it fit? My main concern is the shifter linkages maybe being different.
Thanks in advance. Also my apologies if the answer is in another thread, I did my best to search before posting this.

As above. C52s are not hard to find at all - they were very popular boxes.
There are ways to chop, change, and modify MR2 boxes to FWD configuration, but for a box that is worth less than $150, you wouldnt bother.
Its easy to change round, just bolt in the fwd shifter linkage, drill and tap 1 hole.
Block off the hole where the MR2 shifter went with a coin or frost plug.

or get you a good c56 gearbox, your chances are greater to get a good condition c56 then a c52. Well at least that's the situation here in SA
