I'm asking the age old question of what turbo best suits a 16v 4age. I currently have an old journal bearing t28 installed and it's doing the job but is starting to get a bit tired. I have it installed in my 1200 ute and have built it for street use only. My engine is fairly standard besides upgraded coil packs and ceramic coated pistons. The two turbos I have been looking at are the gt2560r and the gt2860rs. I wanted to know if anyone has used either one and what their thoughts were. Eg. Too much lag with the gt28?

Buy a Bog Warmer EFR6258
I did have a read of the previous article but from what I read the conversation was more directed around a race type application. Mostly I am curious to see if anyone has use the gt28 with .86 a/r turbine housing, to see how the 4a responds.
it would be laggy as fuck with a 0.86 housing.
I've been looking at the GT2560r;
If your not wanting to make huge power and still have good response then it seems to be the best fit.
You just have to keep in mind that it will only flow so much are so don't expect north of 200kw.

Expensive and I'm not sure if they are reliable yet...
We have about 10 fucked BogWarmers at work and I'm told they have now moved from billet aluminium compressor wheels to titanium wheels for added reliability and they are not even a serious turbo. All the Garrett and Holset jobbies seem to use cast wheels and they dont break. Heaps of nasty shit out there on the EFR turbos.
A GT2560r is $1040 brand new from GCG and the BW EFR6258 is $2078
2560r on stock GZE

Yeah the borg Warner definitely seems way to expensive and un trialed. I'm only chasing power around 160-180 kws so it seems th gt2560r will suit fine. I've got the 4a fitted in my 1200 ute. It should be fun enough! Cheers for the feedback!
TD05-16G-9T turbo (Stock Mitsubishi Evo IV) @ 18psi - 160rwKw.
Taxing turbo manifold design, but worth it with many options for Evo turbo's now, and cheap in the second hand market.
Have recently updated to the Tommi Makkinen 6.5 turbo with larger exhaust housing, and titanium reciprocating parts, E85 to follow.
Update
With the Mitsubishi Evolution 6.5 Tommi Makinen turbo (TD05HRA-15gk-10.5T); 170rwkw @ 13psi on BP ultimate.
190rwkw @ 13psi on E85.
