    Default 1JZ Block 2JZ head

    So reverse 1.5JZ

I have a spare 1JZ block (complete ) and spare 2JZGTE head complete. (non vvti), Done some research and have found Aaron from driftmotion has done the swap but have not got much info out of him other then him stating it is a good swap.

the 2JZ head flows a lot more then a 1JZ head and with the under square bore/stroke of the 1JZ i was thinking this would make a nice Frankenstein combo.

Is there anything wrong with having a head that flows a lot more then normal? anything i should be thinking about?

should run fine with a 1jz ecu, harness and injectors.
any difference the ecu should be able to compensate for.

My thoughts are what do you intend on doing with the motor as in street use or race etc & what sort of power are you after ?? .. If you are going for massive big numbers for a 1JZ then its possibly worth the effort but if your not after big numbers then personally I think its not worth the effort ..

Being forced induction the head flow is not as critical as in a NA situation & also there can be a down side with big ports at low air speed ..

looks like he is just trying to use up some spare parts, i say go buy a 1jz-gte head gasket and timing belt and slap it together.
apparently the 2jz cams do quite well when modded to fit a 1jz head so should see a small increase in power over the 1jz head.

if you still have the stock 2jz-gte twins you could make some half decent power, juts a little laggier.

1jz ecu and harness with 2jz 440cc injectors + safc could make some decent figures!

    Well,

I already have a full built 1JZ (bottom and head (just no port polish work). The plans for this engine would be all out circuit engine. As stated i already have the spare short motor and a spare head. Also have a Autronic SM4 and 500R i will be using.

It will not be a slapped together engine as Cresslux is saying it is more a engine i will build over next year. since i already have the 1JZ i thought i would build the new engine over time. So far the block has been used for me to trail fit and cad draw items.

I guess i should not worry, My main issue was would the head out do the block. but i guess 500+cfm is no issue on a 1JZ block

As for turbo choice i'm thinking either custom GT3240 or a T04z or T51r but currently no rush to work that out yet as by the time i finish the engine i'm sure there will be some new wiz bang turbo out.

    Oh i see,

i was under the impression that you just wanted to build an engine from the leftovers of other engines.

    will be an awesome engine!
