    Default QLD Engine Conversion Guidelines?

knowing that alot has changed over the past few years. i thought some people may have recent experience with this.

before going ahead and doing an engine conversion i'd like to hear if there is any foreseeable problems in getting in engineered/mod plated, without the 'talk to your engineer/inspector guy'

although it's not a new rule, the old putting in an engine that was made from 95-00' in a vehicle made in 99' wouldn't seem like a problem would it?

is this still a strict rule or has it been relaxed in the favor of emissions testing? looking at putting a 20v 4AGE with some boost into a 99' car.. the boosted 1600cc is well under it's capacity/weight factor..

how hard would it be trying to justify that the engine (20v 4AGE was made till 2000) when (be that the block mostly) it may have an engine number of a 4AGZE from 1990 or 1995 etc...

In short, no, QLD is easy
I didn't go through any emissions testing. The mod plate guy will look over and say yeah you've done a good job and your motor choice was reasonable and within guidelines.
He'll punch out your plate and you'll drive to the dept of transport and get your engine number changed. That's it, you're legal

As far as I know there is no emissions testing in Queensland because there are no official testing stations
    Quote from Queensland transport
Under the LA section of the NCOP, a large number of engine modifications require that the vehicle undergoes an IM240 Gaseous emission test, in accordance with the LT3 section. Given that there are currently no facilities in Queensland approved to perform this testing, any requirement under the NCOP for an IM240 test will be waived.

So there would also be no problem putting a non VVTI 2JZ into a 00' plate car?
