Just wondering if anone preferably in Syd has the facility to accuratly measure the spring rates in suspension coil springs.
I have built a dodgy machine using bathroom scales and a scale rule but its too bloody dodgey and i will probly end up with a coil spring imbedded in my head if i try it again![]()
As all the local suspension joints say you want to measure WHAT ????![]()

How precise does it need to be? You can use an online calculator using a few basic measurements:

Note this only works for linear springs, not progressive.

I have got a pretty good idea using both the spring calculator and my home made tester (but got inconsistent results + - 20 %) i am keen to get a more accurate idea before i start changing spring rates.
